Conservation Efforts
In addition to advocating for our animals’ wild counterparts within our community, the Lion Habitat Ranch actively participates in the ex-situ conservation efforts in Africa. While all of our animals are able to live in the comfort of their habitat as well as being around the people who have raised them, their wild counterparts face the perils of human & animal conflict in addition to habitat loss & defragmentation. Any donations made to these organizations help with conservation abroad. The Lion Habitat Ranch donates and supports these charities listed below.
- Ewaso Lions is a 100% Kenyan wildlife conservation organization dedicated to conserving lions and other large carnivores by promoting human-wildlife coexistence through community engagement, education, and research across protected areas and community conservancies in Northern Kenya. Ewaso Lions
- The Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) is the only NGO in the world that concentrates solely on the conservation and management of giraffes in the wild throughout Africa. https://giraffeconservation.
org/ - Campaign Against Canned Hunting is a registered wildlife charity and public benefit organization whose accounts are audited every year. CACH is a group of volunteers who campaign together to secure a ban on the captive breeding of lions for the canned hunting industry. Learn more about fighting the canned hunting industry here.
